Board of Ethics of the Pharmaceutical Industry

IGL is founder member of the Board of Ethics of the Pharmaceutical Industry (ENLI). ENLI was founded by IGL, Lif and the Parallel Importer Associations jointly to ensure a professional, objective and independent cooperation between the associated pharmaceutical companies and other health service parties as well as to ensure transparency of the affiliated companies’ cooperation with their stakeholders.

The basis for ENLI’s work is the existing legislation as well as wide range of industrial codes of conduct for e.g. lobbyism and collaboration with patient associations. Cases referred to ENLI are treated by an examination panel after which they may be appealed to a board of appeal. ENLI replaced the Board of Self-Regulation in the Pharmaceutical Sector (NSL) in 2011 in a tightening of the pharmaceutical industry’s already extensive ethical self-discipline.
